Yep, it's true...

I thought I would share a few things about little ole me, today!

Yep it's true....

I have a huge fear of earthworms.  I scream like a girl when my kids chase me around the backyard with them.

I drive a 2003 Toyota Corolla.  Why????  Because I literally work 3 minutes away from our house.  Why get a new car which means new car payment, when it would be a total waste.

I live in a house that was built in the late 1800's.  It is by NO means, a dream house.  But is it our "home" yes.  We bought this house in a panic because we got engaged, found out we were pregnant all in 1 week.  When this happened, we were living in a duplex.  SO...time was not on our side.  We pretty much bought the second house we looked at. Ray was at a different job and we were so poor!  BUT....we were happy.  It's only 1400 square feet on the main level and there is just no space left.  The upstairs is the master loft, which is huge, but SUCH a waste of space.  Oh well, in the last 8 years we have built up some pretty good equity and did the best with what we had.  AND...it's the home we brought both our babies home too. :)

My closet looks like a BOMB went off in it!  Is this because I am a slob???  NOT AT ALL!  I am actually a neat freak.  BUT....remember that lovely little girl that pooped in the toilet outside....she is the reason my closet is a wreck.  See she loves all of mommies clothes, shoes and purses.  Which is fine.  I don't mind her playing with it, but for the LOVE OF GOD, clean up after yourself!!  Yeah right, this is something we are working on.  Tonight's work out will be not only JM but cleaning my closet.  It is just awful.  Look at that mess!!!  I posted that pic, so you can see the mess.  Not me. :)  And look at her little face, it has, I am challenging, written all over it! :)

I have never ever had any form of plastic surgery.   No skin removal, no liposuction, no tummy tuck, no botox or fillers.  I have pretty much been accused of having plastic surgery.  Like there is no way I could get the results I have, without it.  Well I am here to set the record straight.  I am all for plastic surgery, if you are doing it for the right reasons.  BUT...I have never had any.  If I do, someday, I will be 100% open and honest about it.  No scars here, just stretch marks! :)

I take all the cheese off of my pizza.  This just weirds people out...lol  They ask me why I just don't order my pizza without cheese.  Ewwwwwww...that makes it all dry!  See my favorite part of pizza is the sauce and crust!  Yep, I am weird.

I gained 19 pounds with each pregnancy.  I also did crunches and stretches every single night, up until the day I gave birth.  This helped SO much with getting my body to bounce back!  My stomach was flat when I went home.  So if you are pregnant or thinking about getting pregnant, continue to work out.  You will be so glad you did, when it is all over.  All of this also helped make both pregnancies smooth and my deliveries.

I had sciatica with Liv's pregnancy and I still wore my heels!  Why you ask??? :)  Because I it was worse when I wore flats.  Go figure!  And this all means that Liv has been a pain in my arse, since conception...lol  But I wouldn't change a single thing about her!!

The day I gave birth to Drew, I had on heels, a skirt and shopped, till I popped! :)

Last year at this time, Drew accidentally stabbed his hand with a pencil, at school and ended up in the hospital.  This tiny little wound turned into a VERY fast growing infection.  He had a very high fever and was so lethargic.  Ray took him to Prompt Care and they have him antibiotics. They said to come back, if it got worse.  Boy did it get worse.  When we took him back, they told us to get him to the ER immediately.  I would say, to date, this is the scariest moment of my life.  When you can see fear on both the nurses face and the doctor's, you start to freak.  The infection grew so fast up his arm, they had to treat is as MRSA.  Drew was in the hospital for 3 days.  He was such a trooper.  So from that moment on, we are very hesitant to give Drew antibiotics.  Unless it's strep, we wait it out.  Can't take the chance that he will become immune to them....

I have bunions.  And...they piss me off!  They are just gross. Hmmm...wonder if those heels have anything to do with it.... I won't have the surgery though, because I don't want to be told I can't be active for over 6 weeks.  I would go insane.

This leads me to the fact the I CANNOT sit still.  Nope, even when I am sick, I must do something productive.  This kind of drives Ray crazy.  I am a busy body.  Maybe it is because for so many years, I was lazy and overweight????  And if you give me Spark....WATCH OUT!!!

I am can burp like nobodies business.  This too, drives Ray crazy.  I don't know where it comes from, but man, I could clear a room with this "talent".  Gross talent, I might add.  I even won the belching contest 4 years in a row in High School.  Mind you, this was at a Lutheran High school.... I am a P-I-G pig!

I have stretch marks, cellulite, wrinkles, loose skin AND grey hair.  BUT...perfect is so boring. What I am, is real.  I am an open book.  If you want to know anything about me, just ask.

I will never blow smoke up your ass.  If I don't like something I see, I just keep my opinion to myself.  I wish others would do this too.  If someone I am close to, asks me my opinion, yes, I will give them an HONEST opinion.  BUT....it will be a very tasteful one.  You can give criticism in a "nice" way.  Why can't people get this.  So if I give you a compliment, I MEAN IT!!!!  If I tell you, you look amazing or beautiful or fabulous, this is EXACTLY how I.....see you! :)

  8. Lori, you are such an amazingly honest and beautiful person. You let us know that we aren't alone in our struggles and insecurities, that someone else has/is going through it also. Reading your posts are like reading my own thoughts. You know how many times I curse the reflection in the mirror because I have grey hair, wrinkles, stretch marks, cellulite, monthly pimples and oh yeah, stray chin and upper lip hair. ICK!

I would like to ask how you managed to get rid of the extra wrinkles/skin around your belly button? My tummy looks very similar to the pic you have posted at the end. What has helped you? Any suggestions? Really you went to a Lutheran High School? I am Lutheran and went to parochial school K-8th grade. My kiddos went there for 6 yrs until it closed.

Wished you lived in MI. I would love to grab a tekillya or glass of wine and have girl talk with ya. Thank you for the honesty and sharing!!

    1. Thank you so much for such sweet words!! I am so glad we have become IG friends!! I just adore you!! And yes, I too have the lovely chin hair!! OMG I about died, when I first saw it! Oh well, it's all a part of life I guess!

I wish we lived closer as well!! I think we would be fast friends, for sure!! Maybe someday we can meet up! I would absolutely love it!

As far ask the belly button skin or flap, as mine looked like. Kickboxing!!! I was AMAZED at how much it tightened that skin up. As you can see, it is still loose there, but only when I bend over. So I just don't even bend over, in a bikini....lol! :)

  9. I had bunions on both feet. Years of heels and retail work. I got the surgery two summers in a row. It just about killed me to be down. My family took a full on road trip during my recovery because I couldn't sit at home. My husband is a saint.

I, too, have those exact same legs, and that tummy too, I might add. Mine is bigger, but I can tell it will be just like that as I lose more weight. I will never not have cellulite. That said, I look pretty damn good for a 44 year old. You do too.

Haters hate. Nobody got time for that, right? Hug.

    1. You look fabulous!! And yep, haters will always find time to hate. I just choose to not have them in my life. I learned that the hard way. I had a "friend" that just loved to try and hate on me. Accused me of gastric bypass, skin removal surgery and when I was in Fitness Magazine, she wanted to know if it was going to my head. Ummm...no! I decided I needed to delete her from my life for good!

  15. Not sure what Anonymous is spewing...odd.

That being said, you ROCK MY SOCKS OFF! Love reading your blog posts regardless of what you are writing about!

I'm actually having foot surgery on Wednesday to remove a nerve from my foot that causes me daily pain due to a work comp accident in my classroom. Not looking forward to 3-4 weeks of immobility. I was just starting to see results on the scale. If I don't listen to the doc, I could wind up with a more difficult and painful surgery. So I will listen...but I don't want to.

    Keep it up, Buttercup!

  16. I drive a 2003 Malibu. I hate it. But I am stuck with it until it dies. I got an oil change the other day, and I was joking with the guy about something, and he told me he hated to break my heart, but my car is in really good shape and will probably be around for a long time. Well that sucks... Momma wants a new car!!!
